You probably noticed the name of this blog post and thought, “girl – you just got married 4 months ago, why are you posting about wedding dresses now?” WELL! I’m not.
Can any of you relate? You open your texts or emails and it is an invite to your spouses work function, a fundraiser dinner, a Christmas party, a friends New Years get together or a bachelorette party and you think, “oh great, I have actually NOTHING to wear”. You then proceed to panic, pour yourself a glass of wine (or 3) and you start mapping out all of the stores you have to hit up to try to find something appropriate; short, but not too short, modest but not boring, something that covers your arms, something with the perfect neckline to go with the perfect necklace that you probably don’t own and of course, hopefully it is pretty little number that doesn’t require you wiggling into your Spanx to wear out. That sounds like NO trouble at all.
This is where David’s Bridal comes in – they can save the day when it comes to any occasion because they have so much more than wedding dresses. You will find that they have the outfit you need to wear out to any festive occasion, including a work cocktail party or a singles mixer at your best friends house. Short dresses, long dresses, sparkly dresses and neutral dresses. The formal collection that David’s Bridal is currently showcasing is filled with pretty pieces; the best part? They range from size 0-22!
How fun – the day I choose to photograph the dress for this post, it starts snowing. Simply festive! (Insert my sarcasm here.)
I had so many favorites from the collection but I was finally able to narrow it down and choose this organza party dress for a couple of reasons;
1 – It is the perfect level of formal for a lot of the parties I attend. I will most likely be wearing this dress with fabulous jewels, a sparkly clutch and heels. Buttttt for a more casual event I plan to throw on a little jean jacket and cute booties with a statement necklace – how cute would that be?
2 – It hides the wrinkles and bumps that may be a result of your over indulgence in eggnog which is perfect. You don’t need to be stressed out about this event you are going to PLUS be stressed out that your dress doesn’t fit properly.
3 – This color scheme is so easy to coordinate with my love of gold jewelry and accessories. So win win win!
I know it is early and party season seems like it’s months away but trust me when I say, you want a pretty dress in your closet, ready to go, especially if your life is like mine and too many things are last minute. Save yourself the panic and focus on other things like what types of appetizers you are bringing to the party or if you bought your bestie enough Christmas presents.
I hope this post helps – did you know there are only 10 Fridays before Christmas? Too soon? My bad.
